Apostle Saidu Bob-Freeman taking over Kailahun District from Apostle Thaimu Kargbo. Following recent restructuring of Apostles working areas in Sierra Leone, Apostle Kargbo and Saidu visited Kailahun and Segbwema.
Transition divine services / celebration
On Sunday, 23rd August 2026, Apostle Kargbo conducted divine services at Segbwema and Kailahun Central Congregations respectively. The services were to bid farewell to Apostle Kargbo and welcome Apostle Saidu. The occasion brought together District Rectors/Deputies, Congregation Rectors/Deputies, and church ministers from Kailahun District.
Divine service at Segbwema congregation
The divine service at Segbwema congregation commenced at 10:00 a.m. The Bible text was Exodus 20:12: “Honour your father and your mother.” Apostle Kargbo described the transition as a special occasion, noting that one active Apostle was handing over part of his working area to another active Apostle for the continuation of the mission, and ensure smooth administration. Apostle Kargbo anchored his message on the values to respect and care for parents/elders, (one another regardless of differences); for a reward of long/eternal, life promised. Jesus Christ’s obedience, honour, care, respect of earthly parents and, His Heavenly Father by willingly giving His life on the cross is a nice example for us. He encourage all to respect and care for parents, listening to their good instructions /advice. The congregation should extend the same spirit of honour and respect to Apostles, Church ministers, fellow congregants, and one another in order to promote peace, unity, and effective work within the Church. Apostle Kargbo encouraged all members to give their full support and cooperation to his successor, Ap. Divine service at Kailahun congregation
The divine service at Kailahun Congregation commenced at 2:45 p.m. The same Bible text - Exodus 20:12 was used. District Rectors Jerome Ansumana, Emmanuel Bundor, and Community Evangelist Lansana Swaray served along the Apostles.
Following the divine service, Youth Leaders expressed their appreciation and bid Apostle Kargbo farewell. They commended him for his efforts to support and strengthen youth activities across Kailahun and Kono districts. They warmly welcomed Apostle Saidu and prayed that God would guide and strengthen him in the new area. 105 members were in attendance
The transition services/celebrations marked the importance of unity, respect, cooperation, and continuity in the work of God. Food and drinks were served to grace the occasion.
