The late Apostle (Ap.) Sanpha Sesay was laid to rest on the 27th July 2025, by lead Apostle Saa Marc Leno.
Apostle Sesay was one of the longest serving ministers in Sierra Leone. As one of the pioneers, he served in various ministries since 1979: from Deacon to Priest, Evangelist, District Evangelist, District Elder and Apostle – 43 years as minister and 32 years as Apostle. He was about 67 years. His is survived by his wife Sister Sallay Sesay and two children: Martha and Emmanuel.
On the 27th July, 2025 Lead Apostle Leno conducted his funeral service at Makeni central church drawing mourners from all over Sierra Leone. Also present were Apostles of Sierra Leone: Saffa Braima, Kargbo Thaimu, Saidu Bob-Freeman and Bangura Tamba Abu, as well as retired Ap. Albert Garber.
The Lead Apostle served with the word out of 2nd Timothy 4:7 - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith
He referenced that the beloved Apostle of Jesus did not merely pass through this world but fought the good fight. He stood firm in the face of trials, preached the word of God, defended the truth and the church doctrine. Apostle reminded all to also fight the good fight, finish our race, and keep the faith until we, like him, hear the words: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
His body was escorted to his village – Yeali-Sanda - at the outskirt of Makeni city where he was laid to rest in his compound.
The north of Sierra Leone where the late Apostle Sesay worked is dominated by Muslims but was remarkable that he indeed fought the fight to establish many congregations and helped to prepare many souls for the Lord.
