Sister Jariatu Sankoh of Lumley congregation has launched a donation fund on her 60th Birthday.
The family of the Sister decided to celeberate her birthday at Lumley congregation in Freetown, after the divine service on the 13th October, 2024.
The divine service was conducted by District Rector Delegate (DRD), Priest Abdulai Kenawah Sannoh about God’s preservation of His creation for salvation work to be complete.
The children/youths were very joyful with the Sankohs by singing songs of happy birthday, praising God and wishing Sister Sankoh all the best on her birthday.
Before cutting the birthday cakes with Sister Sankoh, her husband, Professor Almamy Osman Sankoh launched the Jariatu Sankoh Endowment fund. It‘s aimed at paying first year tuition fees at any tertiary institution in Sierra Leone; for any youth of the congregation with requirement to study in such intitution.
The Bongolistic (make it nice) Prof. Sankoh said,‘‘Whilst I was Vice Chancellor and Principal of Nyala University and now Chancellor of the University of Management and Technology UNIMTECH; I have seen the stress of students/parents to pay the first year tuition fees‘‘. he lamemted.
A faithful handicap in the congregation named Brother Philip Tamba James, Alias Odofo (Na God dae gie – God is the giver), will also benefit a monthly stipend and lodging from the Sankohs.
Food and drinks were served to the joy of the congregants, particulary the youths.
