The service started at 5:00 pm and the Bible text was taken from 1st Thessalonians 5:12-13 – „Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.“
In explaining the text, Lead Ap Leno admonished the church to remain in fellowship and maintain love for one another. He further mentioned that members should have great respect for church Ministers, who preach the gospel, help in resolving indifferences, and forgive their sins on the mandate of the Apostles. By showing love for their church Leaders, God would reward them. Apostles Braima Saffa and Abu Bangura assisted at the altar. The church presented gifts to Apostles Thaimu Kargbo, Braima Saffa, Abu Bangura and the Lead Apostle Saa Marc Leno respectively as a way of welcoming the Lead Apostle in his first visit to Kono District in the new assignment.
Divine Service for Ministers and Families
On Thursday, the 12th of September, 2024, Lead Apostle Saa Marc Leno conducted Divine service for Ministers and their families in Koidu Central Church. The service started at 4:30pm.
Bible text: 1 Timothy 5:17 – “The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.” Lead Apostle Leno admonished Ministers that, they are not only serving as servants of God, but elders of the church as well. He maintained that, as elders, they should possess the qualities of a good leader; preach sound doctrine, love their wives and be self-controlled. Lead Apostle encouraged the women to remain humble to their husbands. He said that, if Ministers work diligently in leading their congregations, they would receive double pay.
Assisting Ministers were Apostles Thaimu Kargbo, Abu Tamba Bangura and Priest Edward Aiah Mafinda.
This was an encouragement for members to trust God and always be discipline followers of Jesus Christ.
