A strange venture of Ministers across the sea to proclaim the glad tidings
Apostle Saidu Bob Freeman and some District Elders (Del.) took a trip recently to the Bonthe Political District of Sierra Leone. They furthered to the Island where there are four inactive congregations. This trip was to reactivate the congregations of Malima, Momaligie, Yagoi and York Island. The Elders in his entourage were: District Elder (Del) Alfred M, Saidu of KEN/NONGOWA New Apostolic District, Vincent Lippo of KEN/MALEGOHUN, Sylvester Moseray of BONTHE/BAMBA, Thomas Gogra of BONTHE/MORGBEMOR and Michael, the host; all of Kenema, Moyamba and Bonthe political districts.
A quarterly meeting was first conducted at Moriba Town church in the Bonthe/Morgbemor district. Strategies to reactivate these inactive congregations were discussed. The team then proceeded to the Bonthe Island along the Atlantic Ocean where these congregation are located.
Each of these congregations were visited and a Divine service conducted followed by a meeting. In those meetings all stake holders were encouraged to continue to keep the faith despite many challenges of our times.
On Sunday, the 14th January, a combined Divine Service was Conducted by Apostle Saidu at the Bonthe Municipality New Apostolic Church. The text was taken from the book of Luke 18: 1-8. (The parable of the persistent widow and the unjust Judge). Theme: the benefit of being persistent; Message: we pray insistently for the coming of the kingdom of God. Assisting Ministers were Del. Saidu, Gogra and Lippo. 150 members attended and a fellowship was held with brothers and sisters after the Divine Service.
This was a crucial adventure across the Atlantic Ocean to propagate the gospel and restore the Island congregations.
