Arriving youths for Masiaka outing

Youth outing took place at New Apostolic Church compound in Masiaka town (formerly Mile 47), Koya Chiefdom, Port Loko district - the gate way to enter Freetown from any part of the country.

Masiaka Youth Convention is a way of bringing youths together, not only from Apostle Braima Saffa’s working area but from other Apostles’ areas.

Program of activities:

Day – 1 - Friday 25th November 2022
Youths arrived from different parts of the country. Around 5 pm., a prayer service was conducted by host Ap. Saffa. This was followed by the introduction of Apostles, ministers, members by districts, congregations; and members of the Steering/Technical Committee. The theme was - ‘More attention to the youths - future of the church’. This theme set the stage to construct a youth auditorium to accommodate over 1000 people at Masiaka. Choir presentations and singing contributions climax the end of the day.

Day - 2 Saturday 26th November, 2022
It began with procession from Masiaka-Makeni high way, through the Police Station, the Paramount Chief’s compound and back to New Apostolic church. The Government Model school brass band accompanied with melodious hymns/local songs,

Work on boundary demarcation on the North- East of the piece of NAC land went on, by mounting six feet bacons so as to stop further encroachment.

Brief sporting activities were done of mixture of congregations. After prayer by Apostle Saffa; Ap. Bangura Tamba Abu and Saidu Bob Freeman talked to the youths about the concern they have for their spiritual and social development.

Choirs of different congregations sang, followed by the presentation on the topic NAC: “Who we are and what we believe” by Priest Morie Vandi of Allen Town, whilst “History of the New Apostolic Church in Sierra Leone” was done by Priest Sao Lamin - Aberdeen.Priest Ebun Cole of Central Church did presentation on Prostrate/Breast Cancer and  Sexually Transmitted Diseases STDs.

Drama performance of Lumley and Moyamba congregations, with comedy from Priest Sheku Momoh of Grafton closed the day.

Day-3 Sunday 27th November, 2022
The last day began with jogging from Masiaka-Mile 91 high way to the new Apostolic church. Participants then prepared for divine service.

Apostle Saffa read a Bible text from Psalm 24:7-8 for the morning service and Hebrews 10:23-25 - ‘Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching’; for the youth service. The Apostle admonished all to look up to God in what we do on earth. For our goal is to be part of the bridal congregation upon the return of Jesus Christ.

Apostle Bangura, District Elder Ayor Koroma and Samuel Kabia served along; whilst Ap. Kargbo and Priest John Koroma assisted in the afternoon youth service.

The conference had a great impact on the youths, serving as a catalyst for positive change of the future of the church. It was fruitful - achieving the goal of fellowship with Christ, youth guidance and re-acquisition of the NAC Masiaka land. Around 600 joyfully participated in the youth gathering, doing everything in common especially sharing food and drinks.
