Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live – John 11:25, was used by Apostle Braima Saffa to comfort the bereaved and respected mourners who participated in the funeral service of Deacon / Dr. Patrick M Ndulu.

The funeral service took place on Sunday, 6th November 2022 at central church, Freetown, 1:00 pm. Deacon Ndulu was son of Shepherd Patrick Ndulu: Rector of Aberdeen congregation, Freetown and former National Head of West African Examination Council – WAEC. Deacon Ndulu graduated recently as a Medical Doctor and died on the 20th October 2022, at the age of 30 years since 1992. He was sealed in 1998 and ordained Deacon in 2014 for Aberdeen church.

Apostle Saffa had conducted the normal service for departed in Goderich, Freetown and text word was Psalm 121: 1-2 - A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the hills-- From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

He reiterates service for the departed, which is done three times a year in the church and appreciates the bereaved family for organizing the Deacon’s funeral on such day.

His comforting message is that Jesus is the resurrection and has the power to bring to life not only Lazarus but those who believe in Him. Deacon Ndulu, being a born again and Minister would be an assurance for his soul to be cherished by the grace of Jesus. The divine will and plan of God is to save mankind through Jesus.

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Further could be - And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. The Apostle encourages everyone to remain faithful and hopeful.

For admonishing the youth, Apostle Saffa quotes - Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 - Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; But know that for all these God will bring you into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, And put away evil from your flesh, For childhood and youth are vanity. Youths are to trust and obey God’s will in all.

The imminent goal and assurance is, as disciples, though we die but will rise in the Lord at His return.
