Cheerful tutors - Segbwema
25 January 2017

Teaching is the source of knowledge and our Lord Jesus Christ was a great teacher, whose footstep we follow. This is the reason we conduct seminars to give awareness to our Church Ministers in their tasks.

In an effort to equip District Ministers / Seminar tutors with Church responsibilities and tasks, a seminar was organized for them. It comprises those from Kailahun, Kenema and Kono districts in the Eastern province of Sierra Leone. It took place from the 13th January 2017 in Segbwema for Kailahun and Kenema districts; and Koidu for Kono district.
Before the seminar started, Apostle Thaimu Kargbo admonished with divine thoughts. He read out of Jeremiah 17: 10, which says:I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings”

Everybody should contribute

After presenting the agenda, Priest Abdulai K. Sannoh, the senior tutor briefly taught them about teaching didactics. The tutors were expected to follow the methods in their presentation in the form of micro teaching.
Twelve groups were formed, each given a topic to prepare and present. The topics were: pastoral care, sick visits, caring for guests, contacting inactive members, tasks of deacons / priests - funeral service, prenatal blessing, the sacraments, wedding blessing and anniversaries.
The group presentations were interactive coupled with role plays and questioning. Feedbacks were given after each presentation.
These interesting topics were discussed and clarifications made in general pastoral care of Church Ministers.
