Youths from congregations in Kono District, Eastern Sierra Leone recently took part in a youth service conducted by Apostle Thaimu Kargbo.
In an effort to care for our young brothers and sisters, a youth service was organized by the church ministers. Invitees were not only members and guests from various congregations in Koidu town (Head town of Kono District), but its surrounding congregations in the towns and villages. Kono (the bread basket of Sierra Leone), is where the recent 2nd largest diamond (709 carats) in West Africa was found.
The Apostle read Ecclesiastes 9:11 “I realized another thing, that in this world fast runners do not always win the races, and the brave do not always win the battles. The wise do not always earn a living, intelligent people do not always get rich, and capable people do not always rise to high positions”
He admonished that youth should align their lives according to the commandments of God, not to run after the things of the world, not to gain the world and lose the soul but to rather store riches in heaven for security…Matthew 6:20
One Priest Tamba Morris Fanday was elevated to Community Evangelist for Konjo congregation. 1,234 participated in the service. Joyful atmosphere was experienced in the fellowship of young people.
