Youth converged on Masiaka for a Convention.

Masiaka town is in the North of Sierra Leone, Port Loko district and the get way to and from North-East and South-East to Freetown. This strategic location urged Apostle Braima Saffa with the Youth Coordinator, Priest William Moitehun Sao-Lamin to have the youth convention there.

This happened from the 15th to the 17th November, 2019. Youths came from not only the Apostle´s working area, that is Freetown, Moyamba, Port Loko, Lungui, Kambia but also from Bo and Kono districts respectively. They came ready to take part in activities ranging from teaching/learning, games/sports, musical concerts, drama, comedy, health talks to divine services.

First Day
On Friday at 4 pm. Apostle Saffa edified youths with spiritual thoughts, and declared the convention opened. After choir performances, there were games and sports – running, playing football, basketball etc.

At 8 pm District Evangelist Abdul Conteh was introduced as the pioneer of the church in Sierra Leone and he explained how it all happened since 1977. Priest Abdulai Kenawah Sannoh presented a topic on New Apostolic Church, who we are, and what we believe - the vision, mission, history, prayer life, sacrifices/offering, the emblem etc. This was followed by choir performances from different congregations, drama, comedy etc.

Second Day

Saturday of the convention started with a two kilometer jogging. After singing and praising of God, the Apostle prayed and talked about the responsibilities of children of God. His presentation was on rendering service to humanity; make known to our kindred the divine plan of the God and the use of Catechism of NAC Questions and Answers. He further talked on Leadership - strategic leadership and a visionary leader. Health officers of the ministry of health and sanitation presented on HIV& AIDS, Diabetes, Hepatitis and Personal Hygiene. They cautioned youths how to stay healthy and be safe. On the field at 4 pm. there were games and sports and at night choir performances continued of different congregations in the form of  competition, drama/comedy etc.

Third Day
On Sunday the 17th November, the youth service started by 10:00 am and Apostle Saffa read a text word from Zechariah 8:20-21 "…The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, 'Let us continue to go and pray before the Lord, and seek the Lord of Host. I myself will go also'" This was an advice to invite people to come to the Lord for salvation including one-self; to serve and follow. Apostle Albert Garber and District Elder Kai E. Khanda served along.

In the guest service at 1 pm. Apostle Saffa read Matthew 14:29, the risk Peter took to get out of the boat, walk on the water to meet Jesus. He and Apostle Garber assured all a great blessing to bear the risks in meeting Jesus, the risks in serving the Lord; making reference to the risks taking by all to come for the convention.

Government minister of Youth, Mohamed O. Bangura and the resident minister north-west, Aissatu A. Kamara were present, together with local authorities to grace the occasion. After the guest service, they laid the foundation stone for the construction of a youth multi-purpose centre. In their statements they encouraged everybody to be closed to God and to contribute to the construction of the youth centre as part of community development. More than 600 participated in the conference. Youths are very grateful for the movement to let the brotherly love continue in the Apostolic doctrine.
