Late Apostle Saidu – Sunrise: 16th February 1948; Sunset: 9th March 2020
7 December 2020

Retired Apostle Robinson Musa Saidu died on the 9th March 2020 and buried 26th July 2020. He was remembered by family members and the congregation of Tissor, Kenema, in a divine service for the departed.

The family members had gathered together in his residence for a vigil a night before the service for the departed. Tributes were given relative to how he served his people of Manowa village in Kailahun district, Tissor community, as Inspector of school in Kenema district, District Elder of Kenema central and later Apostle of Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Apostle Albert Garber conducted the service for the departed on the 2nd November 2020 and thanked all for honoring the invitation of God, a valued fellowship. He appreciated the family of late Apostle Saidu for manifesting love for him to come together in his memory.

Apostle Saidu died during the covid-19 lock down and family members from America demanded to wait until they were able to come. After the lock down, he was finally buried on the 26th July 2020.

Apostle Garber explained the importance of the service and referred to Hebrew 9:27-28: "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation."

The hope, he stressed is that Jesus died, rose and lived again for both the dead and the living. At death the soul and spirit separate from the body. So we pray for the unredeemed souls not to perish. Jesus handles all beyond the grave that even those who died in the days of Noah would have access to grace (1 Peter 3:19). In 1 Timothy 2:3: "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

We have no power to save them except the authority giving to the Apostle – John 20:23 "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” So the unredeemed will access to redemption. We all should repent, obey the commandments and abide with Jesus eternally.

He said that Apostle Saidu died in the Lord as saints. We pray for him for further fellowship and console the family. As a missionary, he left his home like Abraham for Liberia to propagate the gospel in an effort to procure God’s blessing. The late Apostle’s memory still lingers in the mind of many he cared for.
