17 March 2021

Youths are the backbone, work force of any community. To foster spiritual guidance for them to be useful, a youth fellowship, coupled with singing and quiz competition was organized at Kassema town, Bo-Selenga (New Apostolic Church - NAC district, in the Bo district, Southern Sierra Leone.

On Wednesday 30th December 2020, at around 10:00 a.m., youths of five congregations of Bo-Selenga district had a fellowship with attendance of over 500 people. This event took place at Kassema, working area of Apostle Albert Garber. The responsible of the district invited the churches to participate in the blissful event, with a living Apostle. Invited also were other church ministers, choir masters and youth leaders from other NAC districts within the Apostle working area.

‘Let no man despise thy youth’

The bible text was from 1Timothy 4:12 “Don?t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity?". The Apostle expressed his appreciation for organizing such a well-attended gathering. The Apostle said in his words:

“This type of gathering is far better than organizing an ordinary outing...?

He further mentioned that, the elderly in our society tend to condemn the youths of today?s generation based on their code of dress, things they eat and drink or their general way of life. The youths are now globally considered to be pioneers and doers of all sort of unacceptable acts in society.

On the other hand, the Apostle mentioned that, there are other set of youths society admires so much; due to their commitments and dedication to the services of God and humanity. He then directed this question to the youths in attendance:

“Where do you belong??

Apostle Garber admonished the congregation to be examples - in word, conduct, and love; in spirit, faith and in purity.

Whilst ending, he sighted Joseph as a good example. The young boy, Joseph feared God and was filled with His Spirit. So, despite the challenges encountered, God blessed him abundantly. Others are friends of Daniel: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.  It is a caring call on the Youths to align their lives with the word of God, to be blessed and granted eternal peace, equally to all who remain faithful till the return of Jesus Christ.
